Problem
On your Mac, if you open a file on a DRACOON volume in Preview and then make edits to the file with Preview (with the highlighter, for example), the edits cannot be saved in the file. Instead, when closing the edited preview, the following message appears: "The original document can't be changed, so a duplicate with your changes has been created". The original file on the DRACOON volume remains unchanged and your edits made in Preview are not saved in it.
Solution
Change the mount location for DRACOON volumes in the settings of DRACOON for Mac:
- Click the DRACOON icon in the status menu of the menu bar.
- Click Preferences.
- Click Connection.
- Under Mount Location, select a folder where you want to mount your DRACOON volumes, preferably a folder below your user folder. Recommendation: Click the mount location, click Choose, go to your user folder, create a new folder named Volumes, and select this new folder as the mount location.
Cause
The preview of macOS does not recognize that files in the default mount location could actually be edited and erroneously displays the warning and prevents saving the changes—this is only possible after changing the mount location accordingly.
