Release date: December 16, 2022
About this release
A new version of DRACOON was rolled out on the DRACOON cloud on December 16, 2022 and is now automatically available to all users, offering the following improvements:
New features
New Email notification for users when their email address or login name has been changed
If the email address of a user has been changed in DRACOON (either by the user manager or in the user account, e.g. by the user himself), the user now automatically receives a notification email to his previous email address that was stored in DRACOON. Similarly, the user will be notified by email if the username that is used to log in to DRACOON has been changed (except OpenID Connect).
This new security feature ensures that the user is notified immediately if the data required to log in to DRACOON or receive email notifications from DRACOON changes.
Internal optimizations and bug fixes
This update of the DRACOON cloud contains various internal optimizations as well as bug fixes which, among other things, resolve the following problems when using DRACOON:
- Logging in to DRACOON was not possible if the username contained a # or ? character.
- Some hint texts for the two-step authentication were always displayed in English.
- Removing files from favorites may have been slow in environments with many users and files.
- The terms of use stored in the branding were not displayed in the default language (English) if the new user used a browser language for which no explicit terms of use were stored in the branding.
- When trying to duplicate a user authenticated via OpenID Connect, no revealing error code and description were returned, only HTTP code 409.
